Great Adventures offer day tours to the Norman Reef Pontoon. Snorkel or relax on the outer reef. Try a first-time scuba dive or helmet dive (Optional extra) while out on the reef. Observe many different species of marine animals from the underwater observatory and semi-submarine like Sea Turtles, Giant Mauri Wrasse, Giant Clams, Cuttlefish, Nudibranches, Sting Rays, Schooling Barracuda, Cleaner Fish, Giant Trevally and much more.
Snorkeling on the Great Adventures Norman Reef pontoon offers the chance to see many species of soft and hard corals. You can also expect to find a large variety of marine animals like hawksbill sea turtles, anemonefish, giant clams, glassfish, cuttlefish and much more. All snorkeling equipment is provided like snorkel, fins, mask, and lycra suit. Hot freshwater showers are located on the back deck of the boat to rinse yourself after snorkeling. Life jackets and pool noodles are also available on the day, just ask the crew.
Certified Scuba Diving:
Certified divers can complete 2 x certified dives on the day. (See price breakdown above). All certified scuba dives are guided by professional dive instructors. Full dive gear is provided i.e. snorkel, fins, mask, wetsuit (5mm Short) BCD, regulator, dive computer, tanks, and weights. Remember to bring your dive license on the day.
Introductory Scuba Diving:
First-time introductory scuba diving is also available on the Great Adventures Pontoon. Diving from a pontoon is easy, with walking steps to enter the water. The dive includes a 10-minute training safety video, followed by a 10-minute instruction of the dive equipment. You then enter the water to spend 40-minutes scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef. All dives are completed with a professional dive instructor. Full dive gear is provided. *Remember you must be medically fit with no asthma and not taking any prescription medication to try scuba diving.
Scuba-Doo is an underwater motorbike. Travel around under the sea observing the Great Barrier Reef. Scuba-Doo is good for people who do not swim, it's easy, fun and safe. All Scuba-Doo diving is completed with a professional dive instructor. Full dive gear is provided. *Remember you must be medically fit with no asthma and not taking any prescription medication to try scuba diving.
Scenic Helicopter Reef Flights:
The ultimate way to see the Great Barrier Reef is from above. Flying at an altitude of around 500ft a scenic helicopter flight will show you just how large the Great Barrier Reef is. A professional helicopter crew will give you a short safety briefing before enjoying a 10-Minute Helicopter flight over the Great Barrier Reef.
Great Adventures serve morning, afternoon tea, coffee, and hot and cold buffet lunch. Cold water is served all day, beer, wine, and soft drink can be purchased from the onboard bar. Lunch is served at 12:30noon. It includes a beautiful hot and cold buffet smorgasbord of fresh prawns, hot soups, fresh salads, cold desserts, chicken dishes, hot beef stews and much more. *Vegetarian and food allergy meal options are also available.
