Highlights:
The highlights of a day trip to Frankland Islands are the fact that not many people visit here. As it is a little more remote than the other Islands from Cairns. Visitors get the entire Island to themselves. Walk the beaches, snorkel the reef lagoon, relax on the beach. The Islands are World Heritage listed National Park and are located in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.
Snorkeling:
Snorkeling is easy, just a short walk from the beach. Expect to find small anemonefish hiding in soft anemones. Giant clams, sea cucumbers, sea turtles, often there are sightings of manta rays and when the whale season is here (June, July & August) you often have sightings of humpback whales. Life jackets and pool noodles are also available on the day, just ask the crew.
Certified Scuba Diving:
Certified divers can complete up to 2 x certified dives on the day. Full dive gear is included like snorkel, fins, mask, BCD, Regs, Dive Computer and wetsuit. All dives are guided by a professional instructor. Remember to bring your dive license on the day.
Introductory Scuba Diving:
Passengers can try the first time scuba dive, known as introductory scuba diving. Enjoy a 10-minute safety briefing before a 40-minute dive on the Great Barrier Reef with a professional dive instructor. *Remember you must be medically fit with no asthma and not taking any prescription medication to try scuba diving.
Helmet Diving:
Helmet diving is also available. Passengers can walk around underwater without getting your hair wet. Helmet diving is fun and easy. Enjoy a 10-minute safety briefing before a 30-minute helmet dive with a professional instructor. *Remember you must be medically fit with no asthma and not taking any prescription medication to try scuba diving.
Meals:
A cold cut buffet style lunch is provided with a large array of fresh salads, cold meats, soups, bread, cheeses, and desserts. Served on the Island under a large shady tree, relax and enjoy lunch on the beach. *Vegetarian and food allergy meal options are also available. Make a note in the comments of the booking form if you require any of these.
