Highlights:

There are several highlights from visiting Cape Tribulation and Daintree Rainforest. Some of the main highlights are walking thru thick tropical jungle with a highly experienced senior guide. Looking for wild animals like the giant Cassawary, Boyd's Rainforest Dragon (Lizards), and the unique Bower Bird. Also spotting wild saltwater estuarine crocodiles on the Daintree River.

Daintree National Park:

Daintree National Park has been carbon dated as the oldest continually surviving rainforest on Earth. Thought to be 165 million years old the Daintree Rainforest is well worth the visit. World Heritage listed by UNESCO in 2015. Day tours operate deep into the heart of the Rainforest with the highlight of spotting wild saltwater crocodiles on the Daintree River Crocodile cruise (See more below).

Daintree River Crocodile Cruise:

The Daintree River is, in fact, a notorious crocodile invested river. There are many sightings of large male sale water crocodiles. Typically the best time to see them is on low tide. The river is a tidal estuary and it is recommended to take the boat tour on this river and stay away from the edges of the river. Large saltwater crocodiles have been known attack people, boats and small animals.

Cape Tribulation Beach:

The beach is known where the Rainforest meets the Great Barrier Reef. Although the Great Barrier Reef is located much further offshore there are patches of reef located very close to the beach. The protruding point (Cape Tribulation) was named by Captain Cook from the first fleet of boats that moored not far from this Cape.
