Beautiful Photos of Cairns

Welcome to our latest article and photo blog of – Beautiful Photos of Cairns.

As a local living in Cairns we get to enjoy this amazing little city on a daily basis. We are blessed with the amazing natural beauty that exists in Cairns.

Cairns has an amazing waterfront board walk that extends from the very northern part of the Esplanade near the airport all the way along the Eastern side waterfront board walk past the Cairns Marlin Marina and Reef Fleet Terminal. It travels all the way South to the Cairns Cruise Liner Terminal and stops.

So without further ado lets take a look at some of the photos we have taken over the last 12 months.

Cairns Esplanade Lagoon

The Cairns Esplanade Lagoon is a stand out feature of Cairns. This large outdoor saltwater lagoon is flushed with sea water, crystal clear blue waters with Palm trees and green grass. Many travelers and backpackers can be seen relaxing and sun baking around the lagoon on bright sunny days.

Local Tip: There are also free BBQ that you can use up until 9pm everynight.

The Very Northern End of the Cairns Esplanade

As you walk North towards the airport on the Cairns Esplanade, you can walk off the path and down to the water. Here you can find many small flowering plants living in the salty soil next to the ocean. Great for taking land and water photos.

Cairns Esplanade Viewing Platform

The further North you walk you will find the Cairns Esplanade viewing platform. A small jetty-like structure that allows you to get out over the water. Great for bird watching and plane spotting.

Tip: The Cairns International Airport is located just over the dark green mangroves in the far distance of the photos. So it is also a great spot for watching all the giant Jumbo aeroplanes taking off.

As you look to the West you will see some of Cairns best-known hotels. Currently called the Acacia Court Hotel Cairns.
